Childcare First-Aid Recert - Victoria BC

This course deals with injury prevention, safety education, choking, breathing problems, adult CPR, child CPR, infant CPR and two person CPR (Level C). Also, burns, fractures, poisoning and injuries from falls and other childhood related emergencies will be covered. Students will also be orientated to the use of an Automated External Defibrillator. This Emergency Childcare course is approved by the BC Provincial Community Care Facilities Branch. Canadian Red Cross certification is valid for 3 years.

  • scene assessment
  • choking management
  • CPR (Adults, Children & Infants)
  • introduction to AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators)
  • shock
  • controlling bleeding
  • Small wound managment
  • bone and joint injuries
  • respiratory problems
  • allergic reactions 
  • seizures
  • head & spinal injuries
  • diabetic emergencies
